I first met Mike in 2019 after joining Ladder.io for a full-time conversion role. Moving from Budapest to Wroclaw was a big move for me, and being close to their operations office in Poland was the right thing to do.
They had an incredible team and these people still meet up to talk shop.

The Growth Meetup is a great initiative for the startup scene in Wroclaw.
Their rule for presentations is simple: “You can't show here material you showed elsewhere.” Guaranteed novelty in friendly presentations for small groups of brilliant people.
In October, Karol led the stage and shared first-hand experience with AI for Brand24 and his use as a podcaster refactoring damaged audio files.
Mike went through his journey of surfing trends to land in prompt engineering.
I'm glad to have captured some quotes and wisdom for reference.
Hammer, as per his Slack nickname, became one of my first mentors on all things testing and data during my agency days. I started writing after observing his work and, afterward, following his thoughts on the blog.
His argument on hedging bets by investing in multiple interests and trends resonates with my thinking. It made me reflect on my bets: as a popular investor, as a creator exploring videography, and the biggest bet in my product career — which was much influenced by him and Adam.
Shout out to Wiktor, Barbara, Rafal, Kasia, and Paulina for organizing these events and getting the Polish startup scene together. We expect to cover more Growth Meetups in 2025.
Be Better November
Convert.com's CRO celebration is up and running!
The Case Study panel was a blast — Deborah O'Malley, Carlos Trujillo, Simon Girargin, and Claire More discussed and gave you in-depth details on sharing high-quality case studies to get some street credit!
At the event, our panelists discussed how to recognize tests worthy of case studies, how to be accurate and honest with the data, and how to present it carefully. Catch the recording here to hear more.
The Data Challenge and Upskilling Competition are next in line — we will talk more and reflect on community conversations in the live stream we are running on LinkedIn later this week, more information soon!
Growing and becoming better is something we do in all areas of life. My 1% better highlight was meeting Mike Taylor, learning about prompt engineering, recognizing trends in technology, and getting his book.
This moment inspired me to learn more coding in the future to engineer some prompts for Experimentation and Product. Keep an eye — I'll share them here 🤓
